Evaluation Question 5

How did you attract/address your audience?

The first feedback that we received was when we presented our pitch to our fellow pupils. After presenting out idea to our audience we then received feedback on the areas that they liked and disliked. They also gave us feedback on how to improve which was rather helpful feedback. From this we also found our primary audience, this being the people who said they would go watch our film. This was very helpful as when we needed further feedback we could first ask our primary audience.

We decided to film in a rural setting so people in Devon, could understand that crime can happen anywhere in the world. It is not just big cities and town.

Throughout the process of making our film we have received numerous amounts of feedback from our class, telling us how we can improve our film. We also uploaded our film opening to YouTube and received public feedback. As well as this I asked some people to view and comment on our film over twitter.

How our film may have attract our audience?

I believe that our film would attract audience due to the enigmas we have. Our main enigma was a briefcase, therefore I think this will hook the audience in as they would want to see what's in the briefcase and why she has it, overall I believe the suspense will keep them glued to their seats.

We attracted females in the audience by using a young attractive female as they can relate too them.

Evaluation question 2

How does your media product represent particular social group?

Our opening sequence only really represents one social group:
  • Young women
Stereotypically young women are seen as weak both physically and mentally, however in our film opening we have down the complete opposite. The media often focus on women body's and looks , and not their achievements such as athletes. The media often judge women for what they wear.

I collected some research and asked people what they thought of a stereotypically young women.
  • weak
  • Blondes = stupid
  • Only interested in makeup, beauty and hair
  • focuses on appearance
  • Gossips
  • emotional

However in our film we have not done this. In our film we have represent our women as strong and powerful. I feel like the media do not often represent women in this way, so we thought it was time for a change.

Location

Location of filming : West Hill We chose to film in west hill as it had easy access for my group, and also west hill is often quiet, therefore we would not be disturbed whilst filming outside.

Image result for flashing arrow pointing down gifAfter uploading the rough cut on YouTube I have received some feed back, along with this I have also received some feedback on twitter. Shown below. The feedback that I was giving was that the film is looking god and they very much enjoyed the opening of our film, however they said that I could work on sound which I completely agree on . I also agree that I need to work on the title , so I can make it fade nicely into the other clips, so it blends nicely.
